Tuesday Transformation

I'm going to use Tuesdays to share some quick thoughts about what God is personally showing me in my life. I may use a quote from a book, a bible passage, or just something random.

Taken from the book "Organic Leadership"...

What would the sin be if Jesus had turned stones into bread and eaten them when He was tempted by Satan? Is it a sin to be hungry and eat? The issue is not the act of eating or the miracle of transforming elements; it is in obeying the enemy in defiance of God's leading; believing that God doesn't care for us and we need to take matters into our own hands.

I'm a control freak, and I love to take charge, but I've discovered this type of approach isn't always the best thing. For example, in my marriage, I've learned that when Jennifer is telling me about a problem or situation she usually doesn't want me to fix it even though this is my first reaction. While I may want to offer "my advice" to her, she just wants me to listen, no advice, no feedback, just give comfort and an attentive spirit.

This is true in our walk with God as well. He just wants us to follow the path He has us on, trust in Him, and not try to take control of the situation. We often make things worse when we ignore what is obviously right in front of us. Trust that God is preparing you for greatness instead of fearing that He has left you in isolation!
