Have you ever wondered why I do the recap on Wednesday and not Monday? It would make more sense to recap everything the day after...unless you wanted everyone to have a reminder of how the message should be applying to their life. That's why I do the recap on Wednesday. It's easy to forget about what you were challenged to do on Sunday by the time you have endured through Monday and Tuesday. As your week hits the mid-point, take a moment to reflect back to Sunday and see if you've been putting into practice what we discussed.
This was the third part in the OnePrayer series. We've been discussing how the church can be UNSTOPPABLE, and this past Sunday, Justin challenged us to understand the potential of powerful community. Community is one way people will connect with our church, but as we learned, community is not just about groups. Real community is about having a unified vision that is built around a proper view of God.
What is powerful community?
1) People who are in constant awe and amazement of God...
Have you taken time to consider His greatness this week?
2) Environments where God is present and lives are changed
How can we have powerful community?
1) Pray like crazy...
Have you prayed this week? Not just a basic prayer, but prayed like you are praying to the Creator of the universe (because you are). Don't bring God your weak prayers. Approach Him with confidence knowing He wants to do great things for His glory!
2) Unity...
Powerful community will never happen without unity. Are you striving to be unified with God's plans for your life and The Overflow?
Who does God use?
1) Ordinary People...
You don't have to be a "superstar" with an outgoing personality. God made you the person you are with the personality you have to reach the "persons" He wants you to reach.
2) Willing People...
If you think you aren't capable, that's fine because honestly, none of us are capable, but God is more than capable. Just be willing and He will do the equipping!
