As I reflect back over the last few days, one word sums up how I feel right now: HONORED. It is an honor, a privilege, to have the opportunity to know and be connected with the people who are in my life. Within The Overflow, we define humility as honoring God as we seek to honor those around us. This morning, I want to honor some of the people in my life.
First, Jennifer and Kaden. Why God blessed me with such a wonderful wife and an amazing little boy I have no idea! They are blessings far greater than I deserve. I can't even start to describe how supportive Jennifer is towards me and the new church, and Kaden just lights up my life even at times like last night at 10:30pm when I wanted to go to bed, but he wanted me to keep chasing him around the living room!
Second, my family. Mom, dad, Justin, and Cody are all so valuable to me. I learn so much from each one of them, and I'm so thankful to be a son and brother to them!
Third, The Overflow. Saturday morning, several people from The Overflow joined me at South-Doyle Middle to do some landscaping. We worked, sweated, threw mulch everywhere, and probably even dreamed about spreading more mulch, but everything we did was to allow God's love to overflow upon that school, the staff, students, and parents! Then, last night, we concluded our Outflow series, and it was a joy to hear how everyone in our group is seeing and experiencing God's love and His desire to overflow love from our lives. I'm so pumped about how God is going to move through this launch team over the next few months!
So, what about you? Who do you need to give honor to today? Have you stopped lately to thank God and acknowledge the blessings you have in your life? Each person God places in our life is someone whom God is entrusting us to honor, love, and appreciate. He honored us by sending His Son to die on a cross for our failures, so my prayer as that we will seek to honor Him by valuing and honoring the people in our lives!
