Monday Reflections

This morning I'm reflecting beyond the past few days. I'm reflecting back over the course of my life and the decisions that have led me to where I am today. Things such as... The choices I made in high school and college, the people I've met and built relationships with, the family I've started, and the calling I've embraced.

Where I am today is either a mere coincidence or the result of a higher power guiding every step I have taken. Obviously, I believe it's the result of God allowing me to meet certain people and experience certain things so that I can ultimately be in the best position to do exactly what He wants me to do. I've definitely made some wrong decisions along the way, but I know He has me where He wants me. I can see how experiences that I didn't initially understand have served as key steps on the path towards my current position.

What about you? Take a few minutes today and reflect. Can you see how the pieces have all come together. If you can't, think about these things...

1) How obedient have you been to God's Word and His leading? If you don't feel like your life makes a lot of sense, see if it lines up with the Bible. Are your values, lifestyle, and habits reflective of a life that strives to please God? If not, then you can't expect clarity until you make the needed adjustments.

2) You may be in a learning phase. In all honesty, we'll always be in a learning phase. We can learn something new each day. However, we go through those times where we just can't see anything long-term, and the only thing we can feel is the pressure of today. Try your best to embrace the situation, learn whatever it is God is trying to teach you, and develop your patience and perseverance as you seize the opportunities of each day.

3) Pray for clarity. I don't know about you, but sometimes I spend so much time trying to figure things out by myself that I forget that if I'd actually take time to pray I would probably get clarity much faster. Just remember, the fog doesn't last forever. Eventually, the light will breakthrough.
