Wednesday Recap

On Wednesdays, I usually provide a recap from our Sunday night gatherings, but since we didn't meet this past Sunday night, I guess I just concluded the recap. So for today, I thought we'd look ahead. Specifically, we'll take a look at the next few weeks and what we are hoping to accomplish.

Starting this Sunday night, from 6:30-7:30, we'll begin a weekly worship time with the goal of connecting with some college students, sharing God's love with them, and possibly even seeing them connect to our launch team. You can see the 4-week series we'll be doing by clicking HERE. The goal of this series is not to slap Christians in the face, but instead we are hoping to paint a clearer picture of what Christianity is supposed to be and encourage people to allow God's love to OVERFLOW from their lives.

During the next 4 weeks, we'll also begin to assimilate the people on our launch team into specific roles. Then, starting on September 19th, we'll have training and planning for all of our volunteer teams each Sunday night from 5:00-6:00 as we prepare for our full launch in January. If you are on our launch team, we need you to clear your schedules on Sunday nights. Please make this a priority and do whatever you can to be at these planning meetings from 5:00-6:00.

Starting in October, our launch team will begin to visit some other churches on Sunday mornings to learn from what they are doing. The highlight of this "church tour" will be our trip to Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC, October 16-17. This will be an overnight trip, and it just so happens there's not a UT football game that weekend, so everyone will be free to go, ha ha!

As we look ahead, the most important thing I want everyone to pray for is an OVERFLOW of God's blessings. I don't want His blessings to fall on us so that people will make a big deal about our church. I truly want this city, specifically South Knoxville and the UT area, to know the power and love of God. I want God to show and remind people of His greatness in a unique and amazing way, so let's just pray that God gives The Overflow the opportunity to play a part in what He's going to do in Knoxville!
