The Year is Almost Over...

As 2010 draws to a close, I've started reflecting over this past year, so I thought I'd share with you my reflection questions. I firmly believe that if we never do any honest and thorough reflecting upon our lives and within our churches, we'll never become who God wants us to be!

At the same time, reflections shouldn't cause us to beat ourselves up or leave us with nothing but regret; instead, we should use this reflection as an opportunity to praise God for His provisions and to make the needed adjustments as we prepare for 2011. Please just make sure you actually apply your reflections. Reflection without application equals a waste of time.

1- Has my faith in God and my relationship with Him grown since this point last year?

2- In what ways has God demonstrated His love, forgiveness, and patience towards me this year?

3- How have I treated my family?

4- Have I taken steps of faith this year that demonstrate my dependence upon God and my obedience to His plan?
4a-If so, is God pleased with the steps of faith I have taken this year?
4b-If not, why didn't I take those steps of faith?

5- Have I been active in overflowing God's love as I live my daily life?

6- Identify a few "failures" or key mistakes from this past year. What lessons did you learn from these experiences?

7- What activity, hobby, or routine has occupied this largest part of my life?
7a-How can I better use this for God's glory in 2011?
