I Don't Understand...

There are somethings I just don't understand how they work, and if I try to figure them out with great detail, it only leaves me frustrated. For example, sending a fax. I know what to do to send a fax, but it really blows my mind to think that a piece of paper can go through a machine in my office and then minutes later print out somewhere else hours away. What about electricity? I understand the basics but have you ever thought about all the man-hours and wires that someone had to put in place in order for us to have electricity? Same thing with our water-system.

Maybe I'm just revealing how weird I am, but I'm amazed by how much I don't know. When it comes to being a follower of Christ, I'll be the first to admit that I don't know a lot. I'm not trying to be humble; I really don't know a lot when I begin to consider the greatness of God. The more I learn about Him the more I realize just how much I need Him. I love passages in the Bible that remind us of God's knowledge and power. Check out these verses.... Romans 12:34-36 and Job chapter 38.

I have to walk by faith when it comes to certain aspects of God and the Bible. I don't fully comprehend the concept of the Trinity. It blows my mind to think of a virgin giving birth. I can't fathom the patience, grace, and forgiveness that God extends to us as we continually go against His plans. There's so much I don't understand, but the great thing about following Jesus is that He helps me to understand enough. I know enough to know that I'm loved. I know that what I've experienced in my life because of Him could never be earned with money or gained simply by living life with the world's perspective. I know I'm blessed more than I deserve, and it's all because of Him.

So today, it's okay to admit that you don't get it all. Just be willing to trust God enough that you will allow Him to teach you what you need to know.
