I think I've already said this once or twice since our launch, but this past Sunday was probably our best Sunday. We had our highest attendance since our launch Sunday, but even more importantly, we also had several people indicate they began a relationship with Jesus Christ. Excitement, energy, and a strong sense of the Holy Spirit were all very evident during our Sunday worship experience.
Some of this energy may have been spurred from our community outreach project on Saturday. We had about 40 volunteers give up 3 hours on Sunday to overflow God's love in a practical way. We bought down the price of gas at a local BP station, cleaned windows, and gave away free lunch. God allowed us to overflow His love to well over 200 people. At the same time, it was great to see new people getting involved in the vision of The Overflow!
RECAP
We began our new series called "Rebellion." This series has the potential to bring genuine comfort and healing to our lives. This won't happen because of the worship music or the preaching, but simply because we are using God's Word to connect with real people in regards to very real issues that are in their lives. Through this series, we hope to start a rebellion against the world's ways of dealing with life. Ultimately, we believe this rebellion will bring us closer to Christ and create more opportunities for us to lead people toward Him with overflowing love!
Worship set was...
-Uprising (The Muse)
-No One Higher w/The Stand (Steve Fee & Hillsong)
-You Alone Can Rescue (Matt Redman)
-Came to My Rescue w/ The Same Power (Hillsong)

Rebellion: Isolation
Message...You can watch the video of the message and read the weekly devotional thoughts on our website by Tuesday afternoon.
Galatians 5:19-24
Matthew 5:3, 5:10
Daniel 2:49, 3:6-7, 3:12-18, 3:24-4:3
Rebellion should lead you to isolate yourself from being "like" the world, but not from being "in" the world.
-The worst thing we could ever do as followers of Christ is to retreat from society. Jesus Himself understood that we had to learn how to live in the world but not be like the world.
Your current position may lead to future isolation.
- Through our obedience to God, we may find ourselves feeling separated from the rest of the world in regards to our actions, but this is okay. As we remain "in" the world, our rebellion from being "like" the world will actually help us to reach the world.
-Through our disobedience, we may also find ourselves feeling isolated. However, through Jesus Christ, we can not only find acceptance, but we can also know that He will never leave us on our own.
Can your "god" (whatever you usually turn to) conquer your greatest worry?
-We need to be confident enough in our God that no matter what happens, we won't compromise our faith. Whether or not God acts on our behalf according to our preferences should not impact our commitment to Him!
Isolation leads to salvation.
-When we embrace this idea of isolation because of our obedience, God can use it to bring other people into a relationship with Him. On the other hand, if our disobedience has brought us to a point of isolation, we can find salvation through Jesus Christ!
