Do you remember that person who was always picking on you when you were in school? You know, that guy who would take your lunch money, the girl who would start rumors about you, or the group of people who always threatened to stick you in the trash can. Maybe you don't remember because you were those people. (If you were, then you should be very scared because of what I'm about to say, ha ha.)
Seriously though, life is sometimes really hard on us. Whether it's people putting us down or situations getting the best of us, even as adults we can often feel "bullied" by certain people or circumstances. In this very moment, you may even feel as if someone or something is getting the best of you.
I came across Romans 10:11 this morning, and God really used it to remind me that God whips bullies. In this verse, we are told that we will never be put to shame. This word "shame" also translates as "dishonored" or "humiliated."
It should bring comfort to each of us to know that because of Jesus Christ we will never fall victim to the circumstances of life!
In Jesus, we are honored by the Creator of the universe.
Because of His great love for us, we won't be humiliated.
The only opinion that truly matters is God's opinion of us, so take comfort in knowing that if we trust in Jesus, the bullies of this life don't stand a chance!
