Somethings we make more difficult than they need to be. I think this possibly happens within the church more than anywhere else. I really believe more people would follow Jesus if we didn't put so much stuff around Jesus. People often see our religion, church traditions, and personal preferences before they see the One we actually follow. I don't exactly know the solution to this, and I know I'm guilty of doing this myself, but at least for today, I hope I can simply say what Jesus has done for me...
-Because He is everything, I have the opportunity to be something
-Since He is the breath of life, I can live and enjoy this life
-Because He is victorious, I don't have to feel defeated
-Since my identity is found in Christ, I don't worry about how others view me
-Because He is the head of the church, I will always believe He wants the church to grow
-Since He is all-knowing, I can be at peace when I don't know
-Because He is more concerned with my character than my comfort, I can embrace my challenges with the proper perspective
-Since He gave up His life for me, I can give up my life for Him
-Because He is patient with me and my failures, I will be patient with others
-Since He provides everything, I will give all that I have back to Him
-Because He is all that I will ever need, I won't live life as if I'm all that matters
-Since He is my judge, I won't live for the applause of men or the appeasement of people.
